GB Left Frustrated by Georgia Defeat

Great Britain’s Senior Men suffered their second loss in as many days in Tbilisi as they were beaten 73-60 by tournament hosts Georgia on Sunday.

After going into the half-time break trailing 34-21, GB responded well when play resumed and hauled themselves back into contention to make it a one point game heading into the final quarter. They took the lead on a Dan Clark basket at 52-51 but Georgia hit back with a run of ten unanswered points as they seized the initiative and went on to secure their second win of the weekend.

The foul count finished 18-30 in favour of the hosts, and some of the players were not best pleased about the level of officiating.

Clark once again top scored for the visitors with 20 points while Kyle Johnson also registered double figures scoring 10 points.

Stats.

GB have just one final preparation game tomorrow against Moldova before the all-important 2015 EuroBasket qualifiers against Bosnia and Iceland.
