Last weekend, there was a number of notable performances from younger guys in national league action, perhaps none more so than Bristol Academy Flyers’ Mostapha Alfaki (’91) who dropped 39 points…in just 22 minutes and 27 seconds!
Alfaki, originally a Londoner and part of the 2010 undefeated National Champion Westminster Warriors U18 side, finished 15/21 from the floor, 9/13 from three point land and added at least three steals (though was only credited with 1 for some reason), as Bristol steamrolled past Worthing Thunder, 100-70.
“After I made my first three 3 pointers in the first quarter, I just had a feeling that I was in for a big night,” ‘Mos’ told Hoopsfix. “Overall I was very pleased and my teammates looked happier than me as we got the win, which is all that matters!”
The box score says Mos actually had 37 points, however, going through the tape, he definitely had 6 layups, so I can only assume he wasn’t credited for one of them (if anyone knows otherwise, please, feel free to let us know in the comments!).
Check out all his points, in the order they were scored in the video below (there’s one three where the cameraman fell asleep and he’s out of shot!):
