Pops Mensah-Bonsu Signs with Maccabi Tel Aviv

Great Britain star Pops Mensah-Bonsu has signed a two year contract with Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv, the club has announced today.

It means the 6’9″ London born forward will also be making a return to the Euroleague, in a deal that provides some stability to the 28 year old veteran.

Mensah-Bonsu spent last season with Besiktas in the Turkish Basketball League helping them to the Eurochallenge, TBL and Turkish Cup titles, in his best year as a professional.

Pops took to Twitter earlier today to show his appreciation to the fans in Turkey for last season:

Pops will no doubt be looking forward to starting the next stage in his career, but first, he has business to attending to in London with the 2012 Olympics. He is averaging 17.5 points and 10.5 rebounds through two games so far for Great Britain.
