Team GB vs Team USA in Manchester Dates Confirmed

USA Basketball has today confirmed the dates of their Olympic preparation showdown with Team GB, at the Manchester Evening News Arena, Manchester

Team USA will land in the UK on July 17th, with USA men taking on Great Britain on July 19 at 7.30pm, whilst the women will face off the day before (July 18) at the same time.

Tickets for both Great Britain’s games against the USA men’s and women’s national teams, which are expected to sell out, will be available starting March 6.

The USA team also have exhibition games scheduled versus Argentina, Brazil, Dominican Republic, and Spain, with training camps in four different cities.

Jerry Colangelo, USA Basketball chairman and national team managing director, is excited about their preparation schedule:

“We have again scheduled an extremely challenging lineup of exhibition opponents for our USA Men’s National Team. In addition to playing world powers Spain and Argentina, the team will also face FIBA Americas powers Brazil and the Dominican Republic. Add in what I’m sure will be a very competitive game in Manchester versus Great Britain, and we have an exciting tour schedule we believe will help get our team as best prepared as possible for the summer.”

Whilst USA and Duke University head coach Mike Krzyzewski added:

“This tour will be a very challenging schedule of five exhibition games that will each be played in outstanding environments and will be memorable for all basketball fans. The team’s training and these games will be absolutely critical in our preparation and we know that each of the teams will pose significant and unique challenges.”

Team USA will field a star-studded lineup, with the 20 man-squad currently listed including the likes of Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Kevin Durant and Dwight Howard.

Great Britain’s preparation schedule, outside of their games vs USA, is yet to be announced.
