EBL D1 Week 5 Recap

Despite sustaining their first loss of the season, Bristol Academy Flyers remain at the top of the league after the fifth round of regular season games this weekend.

Ironically it was BA London Leopards, who were yet to register a league win, that toppled the Flyers, behind another impressive joint performance from imports Vernon Teel (25 points, 11 assists, 7 rebounds on 9/17 shooting) and Ousman Krubally (25 points, 11 rebounds on 9/13 shooting).

Worthing Thunder had a solid weekend which saw them register two victories, beating both Medway Park and Tees Valley Mohawks, with Hank Rivers dropping 37 points and 23 rebounds on the latter. After losing their first two games, Thunder have now won four in a row.

Elsewhere, Reading Rockets secured a comfortable victory over PAWS London Capitals, led by a number of prospects. Harrison Gamble (1992 born) had 20, Lewis Champion (1993 born) had 14, whilst the impressive 1995 born Luke Nelson dropped 13 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds on 6/14 shooting.
