Reading Rockets vs Leeds Carnegie Trophy Final

Reading Rockets won the National Trophy for the fourth time in five years on Sunday with a 76-59 beating of Leeds Carnegie at the Amaechi Centre, Manchester.

Matt Guymon was named MVP with a 21 point point performance on 9/18 shooting. Niko Scott added 15 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds and 2 steals whilst Will Hall added 15 points and 6 rebounds.

Adrian Fenyn led Leeds with a 21 point, 11 rebound double-double, with Zoltan Supola adding 16 points, 6 boards and 5 assists.

Reading Head Coach Samit Nuruzade, talking to England Basketball, was pleased with the win:

“I was particularly pleased with the way we stuck to our plan even though our first quarter shooting was below what I had hoped for, our final quarter epitomised all that’s best here at Rockets – team spirit, youngsters coming of age and the determination to give of their best”
