Brits Go Scoreless in NCAA D1 Action

A tough night for all 8 Brits in NCAA Division 1 college basketball action last night, with 0 points between them.

Devan Bailey‘s Central Connecticut State defeated Army 101-87, making it the first time the Blue Devils are 2-0 since the 2000-01 season. Bailey played 17 minutes without a shot attempt, missing his only free throw attempt to finish with 0 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal.

Providence eked out a 58-55 victory against Yale. Lee Goldsbrough played 11 minutes, missing his only three point attempt for 0 points, whilst grabbing 2 rebounds and adding 1 assist and a steal.

Fordham defeated Sacred Heart 69-51, ending the longest losing streak in Division I at 22 games.The victory is also the first for the Rams (1-1) under new coach Tom Pecora and their first since Dec. 8, 2009. Fahro Alihodzic was relegated to the bench in this one, grabbing 2 rebounds in 3 minutes.

South Florida beat St Francis (NY) 74-71, Richard Clark played 5 minutes, going 0/1 from the floor whilst grabbing 1 rebound

Lehigh pulled away from Wagner 73-57. Clayfell Harris played 3 minutes and finished with an empty stat line apart from 2 fouls.

Tough nights for Patrick Nyeko (his Nevada lost to Pacific 64-53), Daniel Awosanya (his Campbell lost to East Carolina 76-63) and Abdi Ahmed (who’s Oklahoma Sooners got a 71-63 OT victory over North Carolina Central), who all registered DNP’s.
