British teammates Justin Robinson and Tom Pereira both had strong performances for Rider last night as they secured their first win of the season, 80-73 over Lafayette. GB guard Robinson finished with 18 points in the win, going 6/12 from the field and 4/5 at the line, whilst adding 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals in 34 minutes. Pereira, a freshman, saw 16 minutes of playing time and didn’t miss, going 3/3 from beyond the arc for 9 points, 1 rebound and 2 assists.
Elsewhere, Ogo Adegboye‘s St Bonaventures cruised to a 77-64 victory over Arkansas-Little Rock behind 17 points from GB’s starting guard, going 4/8 from the field and 7/11 at the line, whilst adding 1 rebound, 2 assists and 1 block in 38 minutes.
Ashley Hamilton put in a solid performance with LMU, scoring 12 points on 5/6 shooting (though going 2/6 at the line), grabbing 6 rebounds, dishing 1 assist and getting 1 steal in 21 minutes, as they steamrolled over La Sierra University 100-62.
Danny Carter and his Stony Brook Seawolves rode to a 37 point rout of Mount Ida, 80-43. Carter played 20 minutes going 1/5 from the floor for 3 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block in 20 minutes.
Jamie Vanderbeken of Iowa State couldn’t keep his hot streak going after his career performance in the opener, finishing with 7 points (2/6 from the field, 1/2 at the line), 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 3 blocks in 24 minutes as his team routed Alabama State 74-47.
Freshman Alasdair Fraser once again got the starting spot with Maine, but struggled with foul trouble, fouling out in just 18 minutes. He did however, go 2/2 from the field for 4 points, adding 1 rebound and 1 block as Maine lost by 30, 89-59 to Maryland.
Levi Noel‘s Eastern Illinois suffered their second straight loss, going down 77-46 to Ball State. Noel played 9 minutes, going 1/2 at the line for 1 point, whilst securing 2 rebounds.
