Robert Archibald, the Scottish big man who likely would have been a part of Great Britain’s projected starting frontcourt, will not play this summer in the team’s crucial Eurobasket qualifying campaign. Sources close to the team have confirmed he informed Head Coach Chris Finch this week he will not be suiting up due to needing a break.
Archibald has been playing for the Great Britain national side since their inaugaral Division B Eurobasket campaign in 2006/2007.
The loss of Archibald is a huge blow to Team GB and leaves a bigger hole to fill in Team GB’s frontcourt after Andy Betts couldn’t play due to family comittments.
