London Lions slotted for Group B of 2025/26 EuroCup

The London Lions have been drawn into Group B of the 2025/26 EuroCup in their return to the competition following a one year absence last season due to financial uncertainty.

Now that their opponents in the group stage are confirmed, the Lions are slated to face EuroCup playoff participants from last season in Turk Telekom Ankara, Besiktas GAIN Istanbul and Buducnost VOLI Podgorica, whilst also coming up against the likes of Cosea JL Bourg-en-Bresse, ratiopharm Ulm, Lietkabelis Panevezys and Dolomiti Energia Trento – teams who will be motivated to make it past the group phase after failing to do so a season ago.

Fellow EuroCup returnee Panionios Athens and EuroCup first timer NINERS Chemnitz round up the Lions’ Group B opponents.

With the 20 sides participating in the EuroCup divided into two groups of 10, the Lions are set to play each one of their opponents twice, home and away, for a total of 18 games in group play.

Teams that finish in the top six of their respective group will advance to the playoffs, whilst those that place in the bottom four of their group will be eliminated from the tournament.

London Lions fans will be hoping their club will replicate the achievements of their last foray in the EuroCup in 2024, when they reached the semi finals of the playoffs before falling to Paris Basketball.

The first EuroCup game for the London Lions this year will be against Buducnost at Copper Box Arena on September 30.
