Hoopsfix Select fell 87-100 at the hands of NCAA Division 1 school Washington State in a high scoring affair on Monday afternoon at CitySport in central London.
A Kayne Henry jumpshot early in the third tied the game up at 54, before the Cougars responded with an 8-0 run to take control the rest of the way.
Hoopsfix managed to pull back within five heading into the final five minutes of the game, but four three pointers in the next three minutes – two from Latvian sharp shooter Rihards Vavers, snuffed any hope of a comeback.
Andre Arissol led Hoopsfix with 18 points, recent Manchester signing Kayne Henry had 13 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals, while Obi Agu joined them in double figures with 10 points.
Evan Walshe had eight points and six assists.
Jerone Morton led Washington State with 19 points, Vavers had 18 points and seven rebounds, while Nd Okafor was dominant inside with 12 points and eight rebounds.
The occasion marked the third time a Hoopsfix team has taken on an NCAA Division 1 programme, having faced Montana State in 2022, and Eastern Washington in 2023, as their record dropped to 0-3.
