Bristol Flyers will once again be playing European basketball after re-entering for their third year in the European North Basketball League (ENBL) this upcoming 2025/26 season.
Under the guidance of head coach Andreas Kapoulas, the Flyers made the playoffs in their ENBL debut and will look to build on momentum from last season’s group stage comeback where they won four games in a row to finish with a 4-4 record.
Returning ENBL Champions CSO Voluntari of Romania, Dutch side Donar Groningen, BK Opava of Czechia, Fyllingen Lions from Norway, Polish side Dziki Warszawa and two time Bulgarian Champions Spartak Pleven have had their places in the league confirmed alongside Flyers – who were announced as the 10th team to join for 2025/26.
Newcomers to the competition in Belgian side Brussels, 2025 German Cup Winners Syntainics MBC from Weissenfels in Germany, and seven time Austrian Champions Hefte Helfen Bulls will also be part of the forthcoming ENBL campaign, with further new clubs to be announced.
Flyers CEO Lisa Knights said this about the club’s ENBL return: “It’s hugely important for the progression of the club to continue to compete in Europe.
“The ENBL competition is an excellent opportunity to showcase Flyers and indeed British basketball on the international stage.
“ENBL games at SGS WISE Campus have allowed us to attract a new set of basketball fans as we bring European basketball to the city. The games always have an added spice because they have that international rivalry. Bristol has such a large and diverse population that our ENBL games have really tapped into that, and it’s been exciting to see our brilliant fans embrace the competition.
“We had an historic debut season in the ENBL to reach the playoff quarter-finals in 2024, and last season’s group stage comeback, to finish with four straight wins was something we are extremely proud of.
“Coach Kapoulas’ preparations are well underway for our third season in the league, as we continue to play our part in showcasing British basketball and developing our players on the European stage.”
The full schedule for the next edition of the ENBL will be released once the draw for the group stage occurs later in the summer, with the complete list of teams participating in this season’s competition to be made official in the coming weeks.
