Coaching staff revealed for 2024 Hoopsfix All-Star Classic

Hoopsfix All-Star Classic 2024 Coaches

The head coaches that will lead the Under-19 rosters at the 2024 Hoopsfix All-Star Classic have now been confirmed.

Matt Pitkin and Lee Davie will go head-to-head in the Under-19 Women’s game, while Andre Lockhart and Adam Davies will face off in the Under-19 Men’s game, with both contests taking place at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre on Sunday 26th May (tickets still remaining, buy now!).

Pitkin (previously Harber) joins the sidelines after a standout season with the London Lions where they became the first British team to win a major European title with the EuroCup.

Originally out of the Ipswich programme, Harber has spent time with both Leicester Riders’ men’s and women’s teams as well as at Anglia Ruskin – winning an NBL D3 league title in 2022 – before moving to the Lions ahead of this season and now will lead Team Black in the Classic.

Lee Davie is the Head Coach of Durham Palatinaites’ WBBL side, where he has been in position since 2017 – reaching two finals as well as winning three BUCS Championships with the university team.

He is also the current Head Coach of the Great Britain Under-16 Women as part of national team service spanning over a decade – and takes charge of Team White for his Classic debut.

Meanwhile, on the Under-19 Men’s side, Andre Lockhart is further representation from the Lions, having been an assistant for a men’s team that has been making waves on the European stage in the EuroCup, while dominating the domestic league.

Lockhart also heads up the New City College academy, part of the London Lions’ feeder programmes. The former Barbados international had a 12-year pro career that began and ended in the BBL – winning three pieces of silverware with the Lions.

Adam Davies joins the game to coach Team White after an impressive season with Kent Crusaders, fresh off winning the Under-18 National Championship, along with a breakout run in the EABL with Canterbury.

Also originally at Ipswich, the aspiring coach departed to join the Crusaders programme a decade ago – becoming the head coach in 2018, whilst leading England Under-18s to a Four Nations title last year.

All four coaches were allowed to choose their assistants, with Pitkin bringing in Hoopsfix All-Star Classic 2019 MVP and London Lions star guard Holly Winterburn to assist, Davie selecting University of East London assistant Michael Hanson-Morris, while Davies pairs with his assistant at Crusaders, Oli Parr, and Lockhart picking Brent Bulls’ Clive Castillo.
