Detroit Pistons are converting Tosan Evbuomwan’s 10-day contract to a two-way contract, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting.
NBA rosters have up to three spots for players under two-way contracts (in addition to the maximum 15 players under Standard NBA Contracts), who may be active for up to 50 games with their NBA team, and can bounce between the NBA squad and the team’s G-League side.
Players signed to Two-Way Contracts are paid one salary for their time in both leagues. Only players with three or fewer years of NBA service are able to sign Two-Way Contracts, which can be for either one or two seasons.
The 6-foot-7 former Newcastle Eagle has spent most of the season with the Pistons G League affiliate the Motor City Cruise. In 29 G League games, Evbuomwan has averaged 15.1 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.
Evbuomwan has appeared in one game for the Pistons, against Phoenix, finishing with 5 points, 2 rebounds and a steal in just 8 minutes.
Previous to Detroit, Evbuomwan played 18.5 minutes over four games with the Mempis Grizzlies on a hardship 10-day contract. He averaged 2.5 points and 3.5 rebounds, including a 12-rebound outing against Boston.
