“Not going to happen,” Evan Walshe tweeted in response to BBL commentator Josh Bett predicting Surrey will beat Manchester on Thursday evening.

And that is exactly what happened (or didn’t happen, in this case), as Walshe made sure of it on his way to a career-high 22 points including the game winning lay up with 14 seconds remaining.

Walshe went 8-of-10 from the floor, adding four assists, a rebound and two steals as Giants protected their home floor with an 87-85 win to improve to 5-11 as Surrey sit ahead of them by one spot in the table at 6-12 in the final playoff spot.
