London Lions hold on to defeat winless Ljubljana in EuroCup

London Lions defeated winless Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana, 101-95, in a BKT Eurocup regular season thriller on Wednesday evening at the Copper Box Arena.

Conor Morgan came up clutch in a tight ending as the London Lions won their third straight EuroCup outing. Conor Morgan drilled a three-pointer from the corner to give a five point lead to his team with less than 50 second remaining before blocking a dunk attempt to keep their five point cushion and pull out the victory.

He finished the game with 18 points.

Ljubljana are now with a 0-8 record in BKT EuroCup.

“It feels amazing, we knew this game was very important for us”, London Lions Head Coach Petar Bozic said after the game.

“Defensively we finished the game the right way.”

Matt Morgan scored a game-high 24 points. Gabe Olaseni played a huge role in his team victory as he recorded a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds, he added 5 assists to his tally.

Klemen Prepelic, EuroCup assists leader (9.5), led Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana with a double-double, 23 points and 10 assists. DJ Stewart added 16 points as four players scored in double digit for Ljubljana.

The Lions will return to action in the BKT EuroCup against Wolves Vilnus at the Avia Solutions Group Arena on November 28th at 5pm.
