Caledonia Gladiators outlasted Polish side Anwil Wloclawek, 66-63, in the FIBA Europe Cup at the PlaySport Arena on Wednesday evening.
The Gladiators were able to hold on to their six point lead entering the fourth quarter to secure the win against the defending FIBA Europe Cup champions.
Jakub Garbacz missed the chance to take the game to overtime with four seconds remaining as his 3-point shot went wide.

“To defeat the reigning Europe Cup winners is a huge moment for the club and one of the most significant wins in the history of our sport in Scotland.
“We’re thrilled with how we’ve competed at this level so far, and we’re just looking to build on this in the games ahead.”

Clifton Moore scored 16 points, to lead four players in double digit for Caledonia Gladiators. Patrick Whelan and Ian Dubose both scored 11 points, as the Gladiators improved their record to 2-0 after winning their opener last week.

Tanner Groves and Luke Petrasek both had 16 points and 9 rebounds for Anwil.
The Gladiators will return to action in the FIBA Europe Cup regular season against Surne Bilbao Basket on November 1st at Bilbao Arena at 7pm.
