London Lions have announced their first new signing for the 2023-24 season, securing the services of GB big man Gabe Olaseni.
It marks a major coup for the capital’s only BBL franchise, as they successfully bring another member of the Great Britain Senior Men’s squad home, having had Luke Nelson, Ovie Soko, Mo Soluade, Tarik Philip, and Kareem Queeley on the roster last year.
Welcome to London, Gabe! ✍️🦁 @agolaseni

The 6’11” centre has played in Turkey since the 2019-20 season, playing for Darussafaka the last two years, not just in the top flight domestically but also in Europe in the Basketball Champions League.
Now 31, it marks the first time the eight year pro will play in the UK, after graduating following a successful college career at Iowa. He averaged 12.6 points and 7.3 rebounds in Turkey last season.
Olaseni joins Sam Dekker, Josh Sharma and Bradley Kaboza – all on multi-year deals – on the roster for next season.
