Caledonia Gladiators announces Tony McDaid as CEO

Caledonia Gladiators have announced Tony McDaid as the new CEO of Caledonia Gladiators Basketball.

Experienced in basketball as a player, he also has an extensive commitment and track record in youth development having coached Lady Rocks since 2013.

He is currently a senior leader within education in Scotland, Tony joins the club as their first CEO in history, joining the leadership team as they prepare for a crucial 2023/24 season, and the move to their new East Kilbride arena.

“I’m delighted to be joining the club in a time of such potential and huge opportunity,” Tony McDaid said.

“I’m thoroughly looking forward to building on the success of last season, getting to know the fans and supporting our owners, Steve and Alison Timoney’s ambitions.”

Tony has worked with South Lanarkshire Council as Executive Director of Education since 2017. In this role, Tony has been responsible for delivering the highest quality of education to children and young people in South Lanarkshire and leaves a legacy behind that has had significant impact on the lives of children and young people and the community that has been recognised both nationally and internationally.

Tony starts in his role on 19th June.
