The London Lions picked up an 83-76 win over Polish side Slask Wroclaw in their EuroCup Group B clash at the Hala Stulecia in Poland on Wednesday night.

Jordan Taylor racked up a joint career-high of 23 points and 7 rebounds including a clutch three down the stretch, while player of the game Oni posted a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds.

Sam Dekker added 11 points and 6 rebounds for the Lions, in an ugly affair where the visitors led for the majority but were never fully clear until the dying moments.

“It feels good, although it wasn’t a pretty game by any means,” Lions Head Coach Ryan Schmidt said after the game. “You look back at this game and it was a tough, gritty road win. A lot of turnovers and uncharacteristic things we did at both ends of the court. But at crunch time, guys stepped up and made big plays for a big road win. Any time you win on the road in this competition, it’s huge. You take it and you get out of here.”

The win now sees the Lions – who are already qualified for the playoffs – record climb to 7-8, while Wroclaw are currently bottom with just one win from 15.

Slask Wroclaw were led by Lukasz Kolenda, Vasilije Pusica and Jeremiah Martin, who all got 18 points.

The London Lions will host Greek side Promitheas Patras on Wednesday, 15th March, in their next EuroCup game.
