London Lions look to return to winning ways when they take on Castors Braine in their third game of the EuroCup regular season, on Wednesday afternoon at 4pm.
Mark Clark’s side are 1-1 after dropping their home opener to Zabiny Brno last week and now welcome the unbeaten Belgian champions to the Copper Box for a key encounter.
“The level of all four teams is pretty similar,” said Clark. “I think the group is tight and really competitive. Castors Braine have been playing EuroLeague recently. There are no poor teams, this is why we’re doing it.
“I’m pretty philosophical: we’re in the regular season. We have to earn some respect and the physicality of what we put on the floor, especially on the glass.
“There wasn’t that much to choose between the level of the teams [against Zabiny Brno]. Their experience, probably. We have to learn, and we can’t come out that passively. We have to be better.”
The Lions enjoyed a 66-point home win against WBBL newcomers Gloucester City Queens on Sunday behind a record-breaking 22-assist display from Kennedy Leonard.
Castors Braine have had GB internationals Karlie Samuelson and Chantelle Handy on their rosters in recent seasons.
