COVID KNOCKS FLYERS FOR SIX

The BBL season isn’t starting on Saturday as planned – after Bristol Flyers had four players test positive for Covid.

With a 14-day quarantine in place, it means the Flyers will forfeit their opening two games against Surrey Scorchers 20-0 under the BBL’s rules to deal with such situations.

“Whilst we’re disappointed to not fulfil our opening fixtures, the safety of players and staff from both sides remains paramount in these unprecedented times, and we are fully cooperating with the BBL and Basketball England on the matter,” the club said.

Elsewhere, Worcester Wolves re-signed British forward, Daniel Johnson-Thompson.

And Plymouth Raiders landed American wingman Chris Porter-Bunton from Romanian side CSM Galati,.
