GB veteran Ogo Adegboye joins London Lions

London Lions have announced the signing of former GB international Ogo Adegboye to add to their roster.

The 32-year-old has never previously played in the BBL and links up with Justin Robinson and Ovie Soko.

“I’m really excited to play at home and join family in playing and competing together – just like it was at the start of my career,” he said. “I appreciate Vince [Macaulay], Justin and the guys for bringing me in and I can’t wait to be out there with them.”

Macaulay added: “Ogo is another player that brings great experience to our side, he is a prime defender and his aggression and strength will add to what we want to do.

“I am ecstatic that he has decided to join our campaign so we can carry on seeing British players at home, fans will love his energy and I know a group in South London that can’t wait to see him on the floor.”

Adegboye announced his retirement from basketball in 2018 before returning later that year in Italy, whilst also adding to his number of GB caps.

The Lions confirmed Adegboye would make his debut in one of their games this weekend as they host Surrey Scorchers at the Copper Box tonight before travelling to face Sheffield Sharks on Sunday.
