Great Britain Under-18s completed their six game preparation schedule with a 80-74 victory over Ukraine in Italy.

It marks the second Division A opponent – along with Finland – that GB have defeated in their preparation, as they finish with a 3-3 record across the six games.

The game remained close throughout – tied at halftime – and it wasn’t until late in the fourth quarter that GB secured the victory, outscoring the Ukrainians 10-5 in the final 5 minutes.

Kareem Queeley had 20 points to lead GB, Jacob Round added 13, Hosana Kitenge 11 points and 6 rebounds, and Tomiwa Sulaiman 9 points and 6 rebounds.

“We finish our six game preparation with a lot of growth and value from it,” Head Coach Alan Keane said.

“We have covered a lot of detail and established the style of game we want to play in this time frame. Tonight’s win against the Ukraine gives us good momentum going forward. However, their is a lot of learning to take from these few days and we must get better in key areas to be successful in next weeks Euros.”

GB will leave for the Europeans in Latvia next week, as they will begin their Division A campaign on Saturday July 28 at midday (UK time) against Montenegro, having won promotion last summer.
