Initial Great Britain Senior Squad Announced

Great Britain have named a 14-man squad ahead of their upcoming double-header in the FIBA 2019 World Cup Qualifiers.

Alberto Lorenzo continues as Head Coach having replaced Tony Garbelotto in the last window with GB hosting Estonia and Israel at Emirates Arena next week.

Kieron Achara is in line to win his 100th international cap for GB, while the squad also includes returns for Ryan Richards and BBL league MVP, Justin Robinson.

There are potential Senior debuts for Akwasi Yeboah, Mo Soluade and Josh Steel, while five of the 14 selected were based in Spain last season.

“We are looking forward to the prospect of welcoming Estonia and Israel for two vitally important games on our home court,” said Lorenzo. “With Kieron likely to make his 100th appearance in Great Britain colours, this is going to be a very special occasion.”

Andrew Lawrence, Luke Nelson, Rob Gilchrist and Kyle Johnson are missing from the squad that played in the February window, while Ovie Soko is absent once again.

Despite being 0-4, GB are still able to advance to the Second Round (see HERE)
