29/09 – London Lions continued their momentum from winning the Betway All-Stars Championship with a 72-88 victory away at Worcester Wolves on opening night.

29/09 – Leicester Riders started the defence of their Championship title with a hard-fought 70-86 win on the road against Manchester Giants.

  • Giants led by as many six and the game was tied at 52 before 13-4 Riders close to Q3
  • 45 bench points for Riders – six players in double figures in total
  • Riders defence holds Giants to 25 second-half points

29/09 – Newcastle Eagles crushed Leeds Force on opening night as they powered their way to a record-breaking 60-148 victory.

  • 88-point winning margin, 148 points – both league records
  • Saah Nimley had 19 of 27 points in first half along with seven assists
  • Jaysean Paige took over, finishing with 30 points on 13-16 shooting
  • Eagles went on incredible 30-0 run in the third – 32 total turnovers from Force
  • Sam Toluwase team-high 17p – US forward Tavarion Nix unavailable

29/09 – Surrey Scorchers started their season in style with a 78-81 away win against Sheffield Sharks.

  • Quarter scores: 19-17, 23-25, 13-21, 23-18
  • Creon Raftopoulos absent due to family matter
  • Tayo Ogedengbe lands dagger triple late in the game
  • Chris Alexander 22p – Tony Hicks 17p
  • Tied game at 42-42 at half-time before Scorchers pulled clear
  • 5-0 close for Sharks, but still fall short

30/09 – Bristol Flyers came out on top in the South-West derby as they defeated Plymouth Raiders 87-75.

  • Quarter scores: 20-12, 24-19, 15-27, 28-17
  • Flyers have beaten Raiders in opening game of season on three occasions
  • Rohndell Goodwin scored 12 of game-high 26 points in the fourth
  • Neil Watson near triple-double (14p/9r/11a) on debut for third BBL side
  • Flyers led by 22 at 38-16 before Raiders battled back to lead 59-61 early in Q4
  • Brandon Boggs 21p, Daniel Edozie 12p/11r – Nick Tomsick 18p

01/10 – Sheffield Sharks responded from their home loss on Friday with a 76-86 win over Glasgow Rocks in front of over 4,000 fans at Emirates Arena.

01/10 – London Lions completed a successful opening weekend as they beat Surrey Scorchers 93-78 in their first league game at home.

  • Lions first team to two wins on the new season
