Will Saunders is to make his season debut after signing in Romania’s top-flight with CSU Sibiu.
The GB forward – who was part of the squad that qualified for EuroBasket 2017 in the summer – has not played competitively since a spell in Italy last season.
“”Will is a player who trained a week with us,” said Horace Floca, director of BC CSU Sibiu.
“He was transferred to increase the rotation of foreign players in the team, given that follows a busy time, with two games per week. We have great confidence in the coaching staff and current team who brought us the podium at the end of the first phase of the league, and we believe that Will Saunders can replace any of the five foreign players.”
Saunders averaged 7.4 points and 5 rebounds in 7 games with Angelico Biella in Italy’s A2 last season and also played for Novipiu Casale (A2) where he averaged 6.7ppg and 4.1rpg in 20 outings.
The 1991 born forward graduated from Charleston Southern in 2015, being voted All-Big South Conference 2nd Team and also won an NJCAA D1 championship title in 2013 with the College of Central Florida.
