Great Britain will be represented at all junior age groups next summer and now know who they will be coming up against after FIBA conducted the European Championship draws, this morning.
It will be the first time the youth teams at U16 and U18 level will play as GB following the home nations giving up their individual memberships which came in effect from October 1st, 2016.
The Under-18 European Championships were not drawn as the 2016 Division A tournament has yet to take place having initially been postponed in the summer.
FIBA announced that the draw is expected to take place towards the end of next month where GB’s Under-18s will learn their fate for their Division B campaign in Talinn, Estonia from 28 July to 6 August.
The Under-20s have always competed as GB since 2006 and they head to Oradea, Romania in search of promotion with Russia, Slovakia, Azerbaijan and the Netherlands their opponents in Group B.
Andreas Kapoulas took charge for the first time last summer and led his side to a seventh place finish with a 5-3 record.
GB’s Under-16s side were drawn with Georgia, Portugal, Macedonia, Luxembourg and Kosovo as they compete in Sofia, Bulgaria from 10-19 August in Division B.
The coaching staff at any age level has yet to be confirmed for the upcoming summer.
