Conner Washington Signs Two-Year Extension at Leicester Riders

Leicester Riders have re-signed point guard Conner Washington on a new two-year-deal, the club announced this morning.

The 24-year-old has been with the club since 2011 and extends his stay for another two years having played an important role off the bench in the Riders’ Championship winning campaign last season.

Washington averaged 6+ points per game along with 3.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game in 32 league outings for the Riders and was also named to the All-BBL Defensive Team of the Year along with three of his team-mates.

“I am excited to re-sign with the Riders,” said Washington. “I have been here for five seasons already and this will be the first season as a full professional without studies. I am about to graduate from Loughborough so I am ready to go.

“I started my personal preseason a while ago; I have been working out everyday, so I am ready to get back and get on the court.

“My personal goal is to improve every day. There is so much opportunity to get better here, I can use the gym when I want and shoot when I want.

“I am a full-time pro now so I am looking forward to dedicating all my time to improving.”

The Riders now have seven confirmed signings for the 2016-17 season with four players including Washington on two-year deals.
