GB have announced that four changes have been made to the Senior Mens roster ahead of their game against New Zealand at the Copper Box on July 25th.
Andrew Lawrence (pictured), Justin Robinson, Zak Wells and Ali Fraser are the four incoming players with the quartet of Ashley Hamilton, Gabe Olaseni and GB U20 duo Mo Soluade and Jules Dang Akodo now unavailable.
The back-court duo have been advised to rest for at least 10 days following their current participation at the Under-20 European Championships, in Italy.
“I would liked to have had Mo and Jules in camp to have a closer look for the future, but we are fortunate we can bring in experienced players like Andrew and Justin at late notice,” said Head Coach Joe Prunty.
Olaseni is currently chasing a contract in the NBA having been a part of Miami Heat’s Summer League roster, where he impressed with his performances, while Hamilton has sustained an injury that prevents his involvement.
Of the additions to the squad, former U20 centre Wells receives his first call-up having recently agreed to return to Leeds Force in the BBL next season.
Lawrence returns to the GB set-up after being sidelined with a lengthy injury, while Fraser also sat out a large part of the season with a knee injury and Robinson is another returnee.
GB are also set to take a squad for a tournament in the Netherlands to face the hosts along with Portugal.
