It was New Zealand’s Corey Webster who led his squad to victory against Great Britain on Saturday, knocking down jumper after jumper as he got HOT on his way to a 32 point outing.
Webster went 10/15 from the field overall, 5/8 from beyond the arc (7/8 at the line), and added 2 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal for good measure on his way to an efficiency rating of 30.
He brought back memories of Mirza Teletovic’s insane performance at the Copper Box last summer, when he went for 25 on 8/13 shooting.
The 26 year old Webster has just re-signed with the New Zealand Breakers on a 3 year deal. He is known as one of the Australian National Basketball League’s top scorers, averaging 15.3ppg last season including a career high mark of 24 in the first semi-final against Adelaide to set the Breakers on a post season sweep to the title.
In June, Webster was invited to a short training camp with the Indiana Pacers.
