Kieron Achara has accepted an offer from Basketball Scotland to become one of their Regional Club Development Managers (RCDM).
The GB co-captain will primarily be working with clubs in the East region, and is looking forward to his new role with the governing body.
“I am ecstatic to be signing for basketballscotland and joining another great team but this time to contribute more off court and to the local basketball clubs and communities,” said Achara.
“Club Development is something I have always had a great passion for, but now to be able to do it professionally and in my home country fills me with excitement as to what we can achieve for the current and future basketball generation.”
Achara had previously stated his intention of remaining in his native country, and spent the whole of last season with Scottish BBL side Glasgow Rocks.
“Kieron is going to be a great addition to the basketballscotland team,” added Head of Communities, Chris Dodd. “The business and marketing skills he brings along with his passion to help and grow our sport will be invaluable.
“His playing achievements are an added quality that can only serve to inspire our clubs and young players to bigger and better things in basketball.”
