London Lions Head Coach Vince Macaulay and captain Drew Sullivan have taken to Twitter to rip into the BBL’s officiating after suffering an 89-86 loss at the hands of Glasgow on Friday night in Glasgow.
Glagow’s Kieron Achara hit a three with 4 seconds remaining to lift the Rocks past London, but the Lions play caller took to the social media platform to air his views on what he called “blatant cheating”, with Sullivan adding that “it’s becoming a joke now.”
“To get cheated out of a game by local referees is disgraceful… Blatant cheating…,” Macaulay, who had to be restrained in the final seconds by Laurent Irish, tweeted.
“If we don’t get the officiating right we are wasting our time…what I saw today leaves a sour taste …After an 11 hour journey to show up and do out job, to be met by officials who don’t is sad.”
Sullivan chimed in after seeing Macaulay’s tweets, saying “been saying this, @BBLofficial it’s becoming a joke now.”
