Devon van Oostrum made an instant impact for Leeds Force with a season-high 16 points, but his debut would end in defeat on Friday night.
The 21-year-old joined the club earlier in the week on loan from Baskonia – on a game-by-game basis – and shot 6-17 from the field for his 16 points and dished out six assists in a 93-80 home loss to Plymouth Raiders.
“Devon’s performance reflected the high qualities he has and his contribution was strong throughout his minutes,” commented Head Coach Matt Newby.
DVO saw just under 25 minutes of court-time, playing for his third different team this season after previous loan spells in Croatia and Finland ended prematurely with minimal playing time given.
GB Senior team-mate Ben Mockford was on the winning side in the encounter – scoring 5 points – while Brent Benson netted a BBL season-high 38 points.
Will Hall continues to have an impressive season with Leeds, after top scoring with 19 points, and adding 13 rebounds.
Leeds missed out on the chance to close in on the playoff places, and remain 12th with a 4-16 record.
