1996-born point guard Jules Dang Akodo has headed to Germany to join Frankfurt Skyliners, where he will play for the feeder team in Pro-B, whilst also featuring for the under-19 side in the NBBL.
The talented youngster competed for England at the under-18 European Championships in the summer, averaging 14.5 points and 4 assists per game, before going on to rank number 1 at the DENG Camp Top 50.
Dang Akodo returned to England this season to play for London Greenhouse Pioneers as well as in the EABL with Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College having previously been playing in Slovenia with Union Olympija.
Last weekend, the 18-year-old made his first appearance in the NBBL – scoring 13 points on 6-9 shooting from the field and adding four rebounds in a 65-52 victory.
Frankfurt Skyliners II are currently 7th in the Pro-B division with a 5-5 record, and their next game is against Karlsruhe, who have a Brit of their own in Rob Gilchrist. Orlan Jackman and Clayfell Harris are also competing in the German third tier.
The Skyliners’ first team play in the Beko-BBL and Dang Akodo could earn a call-up if he impresses, just like Myles Hesson did a few seasons ago after making the step up from Weissenhorn to Ratiopharm to make his Bundesliga bow.
