GB co-captain Kieron Achara has been named November’s Molten BBL Player of the Month after a string of top performances for Glasgow.
The 31-year-old averaged 20+ points per game throughout the month, shooting over an impressive 70% from the field as well as collecting just under 10 boards per outing.
Achara had a huge game during the Rocks’ BBL Cup victory over Leicester after finishing with 28 points, 10 rebounds and 6 blocks – not to mention a ridiculous game-winner at the buzzer.
The GB forward also racked up three consecutive double-doubles in the league to play a leading role in helping Glasgow build some momentum after a slow start to their Championship campaign. Achara went 7-8 from inside the arc on two occasions on his way to 22 and 18 point hauls against Newcastle and Durham respectively.
Meanwhile, the coaching equivalent was awarded to Fab Flournoy after the Newcastle Eagles player-coach guided his team to a perfect 5-0 record during November as they moved clear at the top of the BBL standings with a 10-1 record. Cheshire’s John Coffino was also in the running as the Nix picked up six victories to break into the top four for the first time.
And here’s another reminder of ‘that shot’ made by Achara in the BBL Cup:
