The Great Britain Under-20s were unable to get off to a winning start in the second round of the Division A FIBA European Championships, falling 75-52 at the hands of Slovenia in Crete on Monday afternoon.
Slovenia went on an 11-3 run to finish the opening quarter and didn’t trail the rest of the way, extending their lead to 20 points by the beginning of the fourth quarter while doing a great job of containing the Luke Nelson, Alex Young backcourt; they were held to a combined 3/15 shooting.
Jordan Spencer led GB with 12 points, and Grant Mackay added 11.
GB will now play Serbia on Tuesday evening at 17:15 GMT.
