Deng Camp Top 50 List Released

The Deng Camp Top 50, a list of the top 50 under-19 players in the UK, has been released by the Luol Deng Foundation in preparation for the invite only camp next month.

The camp, which will take place from the 19th-22nd August 2014 at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, will feature individual drills, combine testing, classroom analysis, strength and conditioning and competitive games, culminating in the 50 players being ranked at the end of it.

“Luol and I are hugely excited to introduce a new ‘top 50’ ranking format to Deng Camp,” said Steve Vear, the CEO of the Luol Deng Foundation. “For the first time there will be a platform from which to give elite British talent greater exposure and fuel their competitive spirit.

“We are both extremely grateful to the dedicated panel of coaches and basketball affiliates who have taken great care and responsibility in hand selecting the top 50 players in the nation, as well as an extensive reserve list in the case a player can not attend. Without them this vision could not have been realised.

“Once again we’re joined by USA Basketball Head Coach Don Showalter and Luol’s High School coach, Joe Mantegna (Blair Academy). Their return, complemented by an array of the best British coaches, promises to result in an unforgettable camp experience. We are really looking forward to delivering a great camp and to start a new platform for the elite players in the UK.”

The selected 50 players, listed below, have until 31st July 2014 to accept their place (which can be done here), with those failing to accept their place being replaced from the reserve list.
