Brandon Hitchman (1995 born) has verbally committed to NCAA Division 1 school University of Tennessee at Martin.
The 6’8″ stretch four, who had stints with Loughborough, Leicester and City of Birmingham before heading to the US, averaged 14ppg, 8rbg, 5apg, this season at Westwind Prep in Arizona, as he he shot 40% from beyond the arc.
“I felt like I had a great relationship with the head coach when I was talking to him, and when he came out to see me I felt more reassured about the way the team plays and the way he is as a coach,” said Hitchman, talking on why he chose University of Tennessee at Martin.
“I felt like the other D1s that offered me weren’t as good fit for the way I play. Plus, one of my other teammates, CJ Davis got offered to the school and we both committed together.”
“Talking to the coach, he indicated to me that he wants me to come in and contribute a lot of minutes my freshman year,” Hitchman continued. “He said my main scoring role on the team is too shoot open threes and work well in their half court sets.
“Im looking forward to seeing what the competition is like at the next level and comparing myself against them, living in Tennessee and playing in a good conference.”
The Skyhawks compete in the Ohio Valley Conference, and went 8-23 overall last season, and 3-13 in the conference.
Hoopsfix wants to wish Brandon all the best with his college career!
