England Under-16s will play for 7th place at the Division B European Championships after they were beaten 62-50 by Israel on Saturday.
The second quarter proved to be the undoing of the England challenge as Israel began with a 6-0 run to stretch their single point opening quarter advantage and added another 6-0 run later in the quarter to move ahead by double digits.
England trailed by as many as 15 points in the third quarter and as many 19 in the fourth as they were unable to mount a challenge.
Shanice Norton was the only player in double figures for England with 10 points. Savannah Wilkinson added 8 points and 10 rebounds.
England’s final game of the tournament will be at 11:45am on Sunday against either Poland or Belarus.
