The Great Britain Under-20s fell to 0-4 at the Division B European Championships on Monday afternoon, with a 67-51 loss at the hands of Latvia.
The loss means promotion is now out of reach for Matt Johnson’s side as they play for pride over their remaining four games.
“We started the game with a lot of energy and spirit and the first half score showed that,” said Harriet Ottewill-Soulsby after the game. “Unfortunately we had some moments where we lacked focus in the second half which eventually cost us the game.
“We are still fighting though and looking forward to the challenge of playing Belgium tomorrow who we know are undefeated.”
Rosie Hynes had 9 points to lead GB, Shequila Joseph had 8 points, whilst Ottewill-Soulsby had 7 points, 11 rebounds for GB.
GB will now take on Belgium on Tuesday morning.
