England Under-17s returned from Cherbourg with a third place finish under their belt after going 3-2 at the tournament in France.
After finishing 2-1 in pool play to go through as the second seed behind the other English side in the tournament, Manchester Magic, England fell to a two point loss to eventual winners Paris-Levallois in the semi-finals.
The U17 developmental side, coached by Guy Coles and Matt Shaw, secured a 58-41 victory over Tunisia in the following play-off to seal their third place finish.
Despite losing in the semi-finals to Ireland, Manchester Magic got a shot at the title after Ireland were forced to miss the final to catch their ferry back(!). In the final, Paris-Levallois beat Magic 56-41.
England’s Eddie Matthews won the three point contest, whilst Manchester’s Pharroh Gordon made the all tournament team.
