Newham (NASSA) Neptunes won the Division 3 Men’s playoff title on Saturday with a 78-67 victory over Manchester Magic at Medway Park, Kent.
The older and more experienced NASSA squad set the tone early with a 24-5 first quarter which they refused to give up the rest of the way as MVP Ladi Brown led the way with 18 points and 9 rebounds.
The resilient Manchester side didn’t go down without a fight, closing the gap to 1 point midway through the fourth quarter but couldn’t quite get over the hump.
Magic were led by Daniel Pilkington’s 15 point, 10 rebound double-double, whilst 1993 born Tom Devitt added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assist and Jack Crook added 7 points and 8 rebounds.
Will Ashby and Perry Lawson added 11 points each for NASSA, with the latter adding 7 assists.
