Great Britain’s Pops Mensah-Bonsu continues to show he is back to full strength after a dominant 25 point, 17 rebound performance to lead Besiktas Milangaz to the Eurochallenge Final Four.
Besiktas beat Artland Dragons 77-63 on Thursday night, to become the first team to book their ticket to the Final Four, as Pops scored 8 consecutive unanswered points punctuated with a thunderous dunk during a crucial fourth quarter run. He went 10/12 from the field (5/10 at the line) and also added 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocked shot.
Bestikas advanced after going 2-0 against Artland in their quarter final playoffs match-up, with Mensah-Bonsu dropping 22 and 10 in the first encounter.
Mensah-Bonsu is now averaging 18.3 points (4th) and 10.8 rebounds (1st) per game on 66% shooting (2nd) through 9 EuroChallenge games. He has already won the Turkish Cup with Bestikas earlier this season, and is now just two victories away from the EuroChallenge title.
