Two England 3 on 3 sides head out to Rimini, Italy, today for the 1st edition of the 3×3 Youth World Championship taking place this weekend (9-11 September).

Talking on arrival in Rimini, point guard McGinn is looking forward to the tournament:
“Having seen some of the players here, we’re gonna face some tough competition but we can’t be phased. We’re gonna compete and have fun.”
Coached by Steve Bucknall, England have been drawn into Group C, with Canada, Germany, Japan, Latvia, Nepal, New Zealand, Romania, and Turkey. They tip off the competition on Friday at midday against Germany.
The format of the team competition for both boys and girls will be round robins with the four best teams from each group progressing to the Eight-Finals. The Finals are scheduled to be played from 6 to 7 pm on Sunday evening.
In addition to the games taking place over those three days, there will also be a number of individual competitions, such as dunk, skills and shooting contests.
The girls team features Jay-Ann Bravo-Harriot, Shequila Joseph and Janice Monakana from the Haringey Angels and Cheridene Green from the Sevenoaks Suns.
