Tony Blair Wants Basketball on Terrestrial TV
Former PM Blair has given the thumbs up to getting the BBL back on TV
Former Prime Minister Tony Blair (of all people!) has shown his support for British basketball, calling for BBL games to be broadcast on terrestrial TV.
Talking to the Daily Star he said:
“It would be great to have British basketball back on terrestrial TV. It’s something for the broadcasters to discuss.
“But there’s a lot of interest in the sport and people love to watch it.”
The article also reveals that the BBL is in the final stages of fresh contract talks with Sky Sports to broadcast live games again next season after a return to the channel last season.
