Los Angeles’ finest rap trio put out their long awaited mixtape Mania!. Hosted by gobshite Don Cannon this is a must listen for fans of Church League Champs and Don’t Mention It. Hopefully it’s their last free instalment before their official Universal Motown supported album drops (?).
Listen:
Pac Div – The Mirror
Dom Kennedy – The Original Dom Kennedy
The most consistent and oft slept rapper out of Leimert Park, Los Anegeles drops another free mixtape almost out of nowhere. Dom delivers the signature LA sound which we’ve come to love from Future Street Drug Sounds and From the Westside with Love. Dom seems to be the type of guy who’s got his masterplan mapped out with precision. I’m always looking forward to his next move and this tape only builds on that anticipation.
Listen:
Dom Kennedy – Bet You Want Me Now
Wiz’ lil homie and recent XXL freshman, Mac Miller, drops his long awaited mixtape. Mac’s built up a quite a buzz and although I’m nowhere near sold yet, it’s worth checking for Donald Trump and the Khrysis produced She Said.
Listen:
Mac Miller – Donald Trump
Fellow XXL freshman and general weirdo/top lad Lil B drops his most recent mixtape. It’s kind of what you’d expect from Lil B at this point and mainly noteworthy for the track Based to your Face produced by 9th Wonder and featuring bars from Phonte and Jean Grae. An unlikely pairing that works really well. Lil B haters are finding it harder and harder to maintain their M.O.
