England U18 Grant Fiorentinos has signed to NCAA Division 1 school Tulane University, to join them from the 2011/2012 season.
Fiorentinos, a 6’10”, 225lb power forward, is currently playing at The Hun School of Princeton, where he averaged 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks per game last season.
Speaking exclusively to Hoopsfix of why he chose Tulane, he said;
“Tulane was the best option for me academically, and I feel me and the coaches see eye to eye. I consider myself a hardworker, team player and leader on the court and think I will fit in well as part of the Green Wave.”
Fiorentinos led the England U18 team in rebounding at 6.5 per game at the Division B European Championships this summer, whilst adding 6.4 points per outing and 1 assist per game in just 17.4 minutes per game.
He also had interest from Robert Morris, Southern Illinois, Rider, Denver, San Francisco and Florida Atlantic University. Tulane competes in Conference USA.
