Treasure, Anebo Lead Performers of the Weekend

A regular feature here on Hoopsfix, it’s time to recognise a number of standout individual performances this weekend across a number of EBL National Leagues with our ‘Performers of the Weekend’;

Tyrone Treasure (1988) had 35 for Bristol vs Derby, as he helped consolidate the Flyers’ top spot in EBL Division 1, whilst adding to Derby’s woes with their sixth straight league defeat.

Who said defence doesn’t get recognised? Armand Anebo pulled down a *massive* 12 offensive rebounds as Brixton won 87-78 over Coventry. In the same game, Ladi Brown made all 6 of his three point attempts on his way to 19 points.

Disraeli Lufadeju (1992) had a great game this Saturday vs Birmingham top scoring with 21 points and shutting down ex England player Steve Hansell as Medway Park beat Birmingham A’s 95-65 in EBL Division 2.

Top prospect John Gould (1993) had 25 points on 8/12 shooting, whilst adding 6 rebounds and 6 assists in Manchester 2’s EBL D3 game against Leeds Carnegie 2’s which they won comfortably 81-58.

Richard Windle had a 25 point-14 rebound double double in just 24 minutes of action as his Sheffield Sabres destroyed Bradford Maroons 88-50 in EBL D3

Veteran Tayo Odulaja rewound the clock and dropped 32 but couldn’t prevent his Uxbridge College Emperors from losing to Southend 85-69 in Division 4 South East action.

Karolis Stepanavicius, (unless there is another basketball-playing Stepanavicius in the country) playing for Canary Wharf Baltic Staff dropped 31, as they routed Barking Abbey Leopards 112-61 in EBL D4.

Nothing (yet) to report from Junior leagues-due to the England U16’s and U18’s camps taking place this weekend, a lot of the top players were not playing.

Anyone been overlooked? Drop a comment and let us know.
