Van Oostrum Drops 37 pts, 7 rbs, 7 asts, AND 7 stls

Young GB phenom Devon Van Oostrum (1993 born) dropped 37 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 steals on Saturday but couldn’t get his Fundacion Baskona A side (Caja Laboral’s U18 team) the ‘W’ as they lost 84-80 to their main junior rival in the region Eosa.
Van Oostrum, the top young prospect the UK has right now, recently had to turn down an invite to the Basketball Without Borders camp, which is invitation only for the Top 50 players in Europe born in 1993 or later (read about the experiences of the other UK player that attended-John Stewart-here), due to being with the Caja Laboral ACB Men’s 1st team at a tournament in France. He was also on the bench for the team’s friendly last Tuesday in a Trophy game against Gran Canaria (where he registered a DNP).
Despite seeing limited minutes in the aforementioned games, to make the ACB side’s roster even for pre-season, at such a young age is no small feat and is a sure sign of how serious the team is about his future.
